When I was first creating for the web, “The Web Platform” was made up of “whatever Microsoft and Netscape thought would help them obliterate the other.” A lot of what that meant? Write two sets of code to do the same thing. I can probably still write the Flash and off the top of my head. I wrote about my appreciation for “write-once-2020s” in The Web Is Better .
